This sixth mass extinction is being propelled by climate change, a “Frankenstein capitalism”, that in the words of John Perkins and other economists is focused on continuous growth at all costs that is outstripping our natural resources (e.g., trees, oceans, top soil) and planet earth’s ability to support life. While every age throughout history has been faced with truly significant crises– plagues, world wars, etc.-none has faced the simultaneous and multifaceted challenges present today. We live in very challenging times-what some are calling the sixth mass extinction.
